The Story

Chapter 01
Chapter 1 - The Beginning, 2015, accountancy classroom
Chapter One

Zero Background.
One Spark.
Everything Changed.

2015 · First Day of Accounting Class · Kerala

I had no idea what I was walking into. Nobody in my life had ever spoken about accountancy — it wasn't a childhood dream, it wasn't even on my radar. But the moment I sat in that first class and the numbers began to make sense, something stirred in me. Quiet. Certain. Almost embarrassingly so. This is yours.

The Starting Point

Zero knowledge. Zero background. Just a young man from Kerala who walked into an accountancy class in 2015 and felt, for the first time, that numbers could tell a story worth spending a lifetime on. That young man was me.

Chapter Two

Night After Night.
Page After Page.
Until It Clicked.

2015–2020 · Five Years of Study

There were nights I genuinely didn't understand a single thing I was reading. I'd close the book, breathe, and open it again. Then again. Nobody was pushing me — no one was grading me on how many late nights I put in. But something inside me refused to leave the table while confusion was still in the room. Night after night, I stayed until the fog lifted.

The Grind

Five years of studying a subject I started knowing absolutely nothing about. Every exam I passed was a statement — I belong here.

Not Relief.
Something Deeper.
Five Years. Earned.

2020 · Graduation Day · Kerala

I thought I'd feel relief. What I felt instead was heavier — a quiet, deep kind of pride I hadn't expected. Five years of going over things three times until they stuck, of choosing the desk over everything else. I didn't celebrate loudly. I just sat with it for a moment. I actually did this. From knowing absolutely nothing to holding a degree I genuinely earned.

Milestone Achieved

Bachelor of Commerce — earned, not gifted. Five years of showing up when it was hard, studying when others rested, and never once thinking about quitting.

Chapter Four

Nobody Assigned It.
I Did It Anyway.

2020–2022 · Skill Building Phase · Kerala

The degree gave me the theory. But I knew a certificate alone wouldn't take me where I wanted to go — so I went looking for the real thing. I took every training and online course I could find, sat through an internship to see how a real ledger breathes, and picked up part-time and freelance bookkeeping jobs at night to put the theory under pressure. Excel formulas, ERP systems, budget models, VAT filings for small clients — things no syllabus had taught me. Nobody assigned any of it. Nobody would have known if I skipped it. I did it anyway, because I wasn't building towards the minimum. I was building towards something bigger than where I was.

Upskilling

Nobody told me to take the internship, work the part-time jobs, or chase freelance clients. I did it because good is not enough when you're chasing something bigger than where you currently stand.

Everything I Knew
Was Behind Me.
I Went Anyway.

2023 · Kerala → Abu Dhabi

I remember the exact feeling of that moment — not excitement, not fear, but something in between I still can't name. Kerala was everything I had ever known. Every face I loved was behind me. What was ahead was a country I'd only seen in pictures. But I had done the work. I wasn't running from something — I was walking towards it, fully aware of what I was leaving behind, and choosing to go anyway. This is it.

The Brave Decision

Moving countries isn't a plan. It's a bet on yourself. I packed everything I had built and carried it to a new city — because I knew I was ready for more.

The Dream
Just Became Real.

2023 · Landing in the UAE

When the plane landed, there was a moment of complete stillness. Like my brain needed a second to catch up with what my body had already done. I was here. Actually here. Every subject I had stayed up studying, every decision to push further instead of settling — it had all led to this. I made it. Not just the flight — I mean the version of myself who could be here.

Arrival

Every great story has a moment where the protagonist lands in the city that will change everything. This was that moment. Abu Dhabi, 2023.

Real Money.
Real Stakes.
This Is What I Trained For.

2023 · First Role in UAE · Accountant

My first day, I sat at that desk and felt it — this is real money. Real companies. Real consequences if I get it wrong. The theory I'd studied was now being tested the most honest way possible: by actual work. I won't pretend I wasn't nervous. But underneath the nerves was something steadier — the knowledge that I had genuinely prepared for this moment. This is what I trained for.

First Step in the UAE

The door opened in Abu Dhabi. Accountant — my first UAE role. The preparation was done. The real proving ground had just begun.

Chapter Eight

730 Days.
No Shortcuts.
No Exceptions.

2023–2024 · UAE · Hard Work & Determination

Two years don't sound like much until you live them. There is no shortcut in this profession — you either build the instinct through repetition or you don't. I chose to stay fully present in the work, even when it was routine, even when no one was watching. Every discrepancy I caught, every report filed without being told twice — it all went somewhere. It became part of how I think. That's the kind of thing that doesn't show on a CV but shows in everything you do.

The UAE Grind

Two years of hard work and determination in Abu Dhabi built my reputation. Not just an accountant — the one who always gets it right, always catches the error, always closes the books correctly.

Chapter Nine

New Company.
New Role.
The Stage Got Bigger.

2025 · BAAB Fit Out · Abu Dhabi · Getting the Role

The manager extended his hand and said, "Welcome to the team." Behind him, the sign on the wall read Finance & Cost Controller Associate — and for a second it didn't feel real. A decade after sitting in a classroom not knowing what A=L+E meant, after the textbooks, the night shifts, the internship, the freelance jobs, the airport terminal, the Etihad landing, two years of grinding in Abu Dhabi — all of it had led to this handshake. A bigger company. A bigger role. A bigger stage. BAAB Fit Out Contracting & General Maintenance LLC. My name on the door, my role earned from absolute zero. I shook his hand, but inside I was thanking every late night that got me here.

Hard Work Paid Off

This is what 10 years of determination looks like. From a boy who didn't know what A=L+E meant, to the Finance & Cost Control Associate I am today — managing million-dirham project costs in Abu Dhabi.

Same Hunger.
Higher Standard.
Day One. All In.

2025 · Present · BAAB Fit Out · Abu Dhabi

Walking into BAAB felt different from day one. The standard was higher, the expectations were real, and I could sense immediately this was the environment I had been trying to reach. I didn't just show up — I paid attention. To how things worked, where the gaps were, what could be done better. I wasn't trying to impress anyone. I was trying to become something. And every day at BAAB gave me a new opportunity to do exactly that.

Growth in Progress

A new environment is a gift — it forces you to develop faster, adapt smarter, and polish every skill until it shines. BAAB wasn't just a workplace. It became my finishing school for excellence.

The Numbers
Are Mine
to Explain.

2025 · Present · BAAB Fit Out

The first time I stood in front of management to present, I was hyper-aware of every word I said. Not from fear — from responsibility. These were real decisions being made on the numbers I was explaining. That weight changes you. It pushes you to be sharper, more prepared, more certain. The person who once sat in a classroom with zero understanding is now the one the room turns to for clarity. I still find that remarkable.

When I sit with this story — really sit with it — what strikes me most is not how far I have come, but how deliberate every step was. I never stumbled into any of this. Every qualification, every late night, every decision to uproot and go further — it was all chosen. Finance & Cost Controller. Abu Dhabi. UAE. 2025. This is not the destination. This is the foundation. The best of what I am building is still ahead — and I already know I will not stop until I get there.

I started this journey knowing absolutely nothing about accountancy. I built it all from zero — the knowledge, the skills, the career, the move across borders, the reputation. And I'm still not satisfied. Still developing. Still polishing. Still chasing. The next chapter is already being written — and it's going to be bigger than everything before it combined.
